Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of the CardCompass app and website. By using CardCompass, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
At a glance
- CardCompass is an information tool, not a bank or a financial adviser.
- AI answers may contain mistakes. Check important details with your card issuer.
- Subscriptions are billed and refunded through Apple.
- During the public beta, features may change.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms are a binding agreement between you and CardCompass LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company ("CardCompass," "we," "us"). By accessing or using the CardCompass iOS app or the website getcardcompass.com (together, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.
2. The Service
CardCompass is an information tool that helps you manage the rewards, benefits, sign-up bonuses and points on the credit cards you already hold. It tracks progress, sends reminders, suggests which card to use, compiles a daily intel brief, and includes CardCompass AI, which answers questions about your cards. You can also connect your own AI assistant, such as Claude or ChatGPT, to CardCompass.
CardCompass is an independent product. We are not a bank, card issuer, financial institution or financial adviser, and we are not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any bank or card issuer. We do not issue cards, extend credit or move money.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and located in the United States to use the Service. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
4. Your account
You can sign in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for keeping the Apple or Google account you sign in with secure, and for activity under your CardCompass account. If you suspect unauthorized use, contact us at [email protected].
5. Public beta
CardCompass is currently in public beta. During the beta, features may be added, changed, paused or removed, and the Service may contain errors or be unavailable at times. We will try to tell you about major changes in the app in advance.
6. Subscriptions and billing
CardCompass offers free features and an optional paid subscription ("Pro"). The features included in Pro are described in the app before you buy.
- During the beta: we may offer some or all Pro features for free. Before we start charging, we will show the price and what is included in the app.
- Billing: subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store and charged to your Apple account. We never see your payment card details.
- Auto-renewal and trials: subscriptions and free trials renew automatically at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel in your Apple account settings. Deleting your CardCompass account does not cancel your subscription.
- Price changes: prices are shown in the App Store before you confirm. We may change prices for future periods; changes do not affect a period you have already paid for.
- Refunds: purchases are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple's refund policies. Request refunds through Apple.
7. Connecting financial accounts
Connecting a bank or card account is optional and powered by Plaid. If you connect an account, you authorize CardCompass to access transaction, statement and account information through Plaid to provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. Your use of Plaid is also governed by Plaid's terms and End User Privacy Policy.
You can disconnect or delete a connection in the app at any time. Deleting a connection revokes access immediately. If you only disconnect, syncing stops right away and access is revoked at the end of that month.
8. AI features
- AI answers are generated automatically from your data and public information. They may be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and they are not financial advice. Check important details with your card issuer before acting.
- Do not enter full card numbers, passwords or other sensitive information in AI conversations.
- Do not use the AI features to break the law or to try to make them produce harmful content.
- If you connect your own AI assistant, that provider's terms govern how it works. We are not responsible for what your assistant says or does.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except where permitted by law;
- interfere with, disrupt or place an undue load on the Service or its infrastructure;
- access the Service by automated means or scrape data without our written permission;
- use the Service to violate any law or infringe the rights of others;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
10. No financial advice
CardCompass provides information and tools for convenience only. It does not provide financial, tax, legal or investment advice, and nothing in the Service should be relied on as such.
Rewards rates, point valuations, redemption values, benefit details and recommendations are estimates and may be incomplete, outdated or incorrect. The official terms, rates and benefits of any card are set solely by the card issuer. You are responsible for verifying information with your issuer before acting, and for your own financial decisions.
The daily intel brief is compiled from public community discussions, blogs and card issuer information, and may be inaccurate, outdated or apply only in specific cases. Data points (approvals, denials and offers reported by users) are individual experiences and do not mean you will get the same result. Suggested actions in the brief are for reference only, and the card issuer's official terms always control.
11. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you submit, such as questions, messages, images and files ("Your Content"). You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use Your Content only to provide, maintain and improve the Service. You are responsible for Your Content and confirm that you have the right to submit it.
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.
12. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, text and original content, is owned by CardCompass and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the app for its intended purpose.
Card artwork, brand names and logos belong to their respective issuers and are used for identification only. CardCompass is not affiliated with or endorsed by any bank or card issuer.
Wording from original posts and comments quoted in the daily intel brief remains the copyright of its original authors.
If you believe content in the Service infringes your rights, email [email protected] and we will review it and respond.
13. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties, including Plaid, Apple, Google and AI model providers. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions or content of third parties.
14. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any information it presents is accurate or complete.
15. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, CardCompass and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, rewards, points or data, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD $50.
16. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account in the app at Account › Privacy & Security › Delete Account. Your data is then handled as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that could cause harm or legal risk. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, such as Sections 10, 14, 15 and 18, will survive.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will notify you in the app or by email before material changes take effect, and update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
18. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing any claim, please contact us at [email protected] so we can try to resolve it informally. If we cannot resolve it within 30 days, either party may bring the dispute in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction.
19. About Apple
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store:
- These Terms are between you and CardCompass, not Apple. CardCompass, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
- Your license to use the app is limited to Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- CardCompass, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection and intellectual property claims.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo and are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
20. General
- These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
- If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
- You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
- We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
- These Terms are available in English and Chinese. If the two versions differ, the English version controls.
